Candle 101

  • Never put wax down drain. Put on paper towel or napkin and then throw away

  • Make sure wick is trimmed to ¼” before lighting every time

  • Ensure wax pools reach the side of glass jar for about 2 -4 hours depending on size of candle, especially when the candle is first lit for the first time to allow the wax to not “tunnel”. If wax tunnels, wick may not light and you will have unburned wax on the side of jars.

  • Always keep candles away from children, pets, and flammable objects

  • Always use caution when lighting

  • Never leave candle unattended

  • Place on heat resistant surfaces in a well-ventilated room

  • Never put lid on after lighting, let it cool down for about 1 hour before touching glass and putting lid on

  • When extinguishing always use a wick dipper to dip the wick(s), never blow out to ensure no black carbon substances aka “soot” goes on side of jars, once cooled then trim and relight for best results.
